Cedar Fence Keller TX
Our goal is to provide a PREMIUM fence for the same price as other companies STANDARD fence.
Cedar fences produce lovely, natural wood fence lines. Cedar is a time tested long lasting, rot resistant, weather resistant, and insect resistant material. Cedar fences generally last 20-30 years with proper care. This is not a guess this is a time tested proven fact. Cedar has many uses including exterior siding, furniture, wood chests, fencing, and more. Cedar has look, feel, and smell all to its own. Cedar derives its protective properties naturally because of its naturally produced lanolin oils. It’s a lightweight wood that will not weigh down a fence structure over time. Cedar fence materials come in various grades of quality and price of course.
A PREMIUM FENCE
We define a Premium fence as having a higher quality of materials, workmanship, and construction techniques. We aim to achieve this for the same or better price than our competitors Standard fence. Our fence company in Keller TX only uses high-quality Western Red Cedar for all of our fences. All of our fence components such as , pickets, horizontal railing, poles, trim work, steel framed gates, hardware, and construction techniques have all been carefully selected to produce the highest quality fence at the best price in the area. Because we offer a three year workmanship warranty we do not compromise on the structure of our fence. We also leave room for some cost savings if your budget is tight. If price is a concern and you are interested in comparing the pros and cons of a CEDAR VS PINE FENCE we are happy to answer your questions and propose the best option for your needs.
In our opinion, both cedar and pine are great options especially when you combine the two materials. At Back40 Fence Company we believe the strongest and longest lasting material for fence rails is pressure treated pine. In addition to being a better product, we can also achieve a slight cost savings over using cedar rails. There will be a slight color difference when combining the two materials but we think it's a great look and well worth consideration. Even when using cedar rails there will not always be a perfect color match. The value of a cedar fence is not limited to its aesthetics. Because of the natural oils in cedar, cedar it is one of the longest lasting time tested fencing materials available.
WHY CEDAR FENCE
Cedar wood has been used for fencing in the United States for centuries. It has long been prized for its durability, natural beauty, and resistance to rot and insects. Cedar wood has been and is still used for exterior building materials, furniture, fencing, decking, cedar chests, and more. The secret to cedars’ long term success, in addition to its beautiful appearance, is its natural tannin oils. The natural tannins in cedar helps prevent termites from eating your fence, they simply do not like the taste. Cedars natural oils also make it naturally resistant to rot, making it a very durable choice even in North Texas weather. A regular fence staining every two to five years can be used to further protect your cedar fence.
There are several different grades of cedar wood which are based on the quality and appearance of the wood. The closer to the heart of the tree the less knots a cedar board will have. The most common grades of cedar:
- Clear Grade: This is the highest quality cedar with practically no knots or blemishes. It is commonly used for the construction of high end furniture but it is also available for fencing.
- Grade #1: This grade of cedar has a few small knots but is generally free of any blemishes. This grade of cedar is commonly used for exterior home siding, fencing, and outdoor furniture.
- Grade #2: This is the most commonly used cedar grade for fencing.
CEDAR FENCE CONSTRUCTION
Our company provides a variety of construction styles, such as shadowbox, side by side, board on board, open picket, and horizontal fence. All fences can be constructed in a six or eight foot height given that your community allows your desired fence. We also provide lovely cap and trim options for your cedar fence. Our fences include a screwed in 1x4 trim board and a kickboard or rot board. The kickboard ensures the fence pickets do not touch the ground, it contributes to the structure of the fence, it provides a barrier between your property and the neighbors, and it helps to protect the pickets from a weed eater. We are happy to discuss the design of your fence to customize anything you want or need. We build each new fence component one at a time ensuring that the fence is far superior to pre-built fence panels. You'll see your fence being built one piece at a time. The majority of fences in North Texas are constructed with steel poles and CEDAR FENCE PICKETS. We use hot-dipped galvanized ring shank nails for cedar pickets and we use special order screws for the rails, trim, and other points of concern. If you want your fence "all the way" we can screw in your pickets for an additional charge.
WOOD FENCE COST
Wood fencing is a popular choice for residential fencing, and many homeowners are curious about the cost. Compared to other fence materials, wood fencing is in the middle of the price range. It is not the least expensive (chain link generally is), but it is also not the most expensive (composite is). Vinyl fencing is significantly more expensive than wood fencing. Cedar is the most commonly used wood for fencing in our area but if you are on a budget, we can discuss building you a quality fence using pressure treated wood. Wood is a long-lasting fence construction material that helps you stick to your budget.
